Introduction
Rappel is a personal reminder manager (bills, health, shopping and so on) developed by Adrien Michaud. Protecting your personal data is a priority. This privacy policy describes which data is collected, and how it is stored and used.
In short: all of your data stays on your device only. No data is sent to external servers or shared with third parties.
Data collected
The app stores the following data locally on your device, in an SQLite database:
User profile
Display name, avatar, preferred currency, theme preferences and notification settings. No password, email address or external identifier is collected.
Reminders
Title, due date, amount (optional), notes (optional), status, recurrence, category, priority and labels.
Organisation
The custom categories, labels and priorities you create to organise your reminders.
Data storage
Local storage only
All data is stored solely in your device's internal storage. The app has no remote server, no cloud database and no synchronisation system. Your data never leaves your device.
Profile isolation
If several profiles are created on the same device, each profile's data is kept strictly separate from the others.
Data transmission
No transmission
The app sends no data to external servers. No remote API is called.
No tracking
The app contains no analytics, behavioural tracking or advertising tooling.
No sharing
Your data is never shared with third parties, advertisers or partners.
App permissions
The app requests the following permissions, all of them used solely for on-device features:
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS)
Allows local notifications to remind you of your due dates. Notifications are handled entirely on the device, with no remote notification server.
Exact alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM)
Allows notifications to be scheduled for the exact time of your reminders.
Startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED)
Allows your notifications to be rescheduled after the device restarts.
Internet and network (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE)
Required by the .NET MAUI framework. The app sends no data over the network.
Notifications
Notifications are generated and displayed locally on your device. As a safety measure:
Protection of sensitive data
Financial amounts and medical details are never shown in notifications. Only the reminder's title appears in the notification.
Backups
On Android, the device's automatic backup may include the app's data if you have enabled cloud backup in your device settings. That backup is handled by the Android operating system and Google, not by the Rappel app.
Deleting your data
You have full control over your data:
Individual deletion
You can delete a reminder, a category, a label or a priority at any time from within the app.
Complete deletion
Deleting a profile permanently deletes all data associated with it. Uninstalling the app also removes all local data.
Children
The Rappel app is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data about them. The app requires no account creation and collects no personally identifiable information.
Changes to this policy
This privacy policy may be updated. Any change will be published on this page along with a revised update date. You are encouraged to check this page from time to time.
